1st Timer, Newbie Report from a younger couple.
We took our first trip to Hedo with Young Swingers Week last March. This report is more of an experience report including how we decided to go, getting into the lifestyle, Young Swingers Week, and Hedonism. There you go, all inclusive. Unfortunately I didn’t write this review right away and some things started to fade. The good part is the best memories are vivid and worth retelling so here we go!
Background:
My wife and I had never been to an adult resort like this and prior to booking the trip never considered ourselves in the lifestyle. We did visit a nude beach for a few hours in Jamaica a few years prior and found it really hot. We always talked about going to Hedonism, half joking, half serious but I was always leaning toward the more serious side. As far as a lifestyle couple, my wife had dated another girl in college and had a little bi experience but has always been open about being attracted to women. Of course, this brought up the discussion of a threesome with other women and a fantasy of mine for a long time. Anyway, a couple of months prior to our wedding we ended up having a FFM threesome somewhat spontaneously at our home while a few friends were over. We snuck away upstairs for a while! We both had so much fun it ignited a sexual burst of energy. I started doing some basic online research into lifestyle sites, dating sites and eventually I found adulttravelforum. Clicking through, I thought a trip would be a lot of fun, not as swingers, but just being at a nude resort. My wife is super social, beautiful, smart, and really enjoys a good crowd. These resorts seemed like a great fit. I talked to her about it and said we should go to Desire, it seemed to be a little more laid back and sounded like a good first trip. She wasn’t as excited as I thought she would be but still agreed, this was right before our wedding. As I was looking for more details about when to go and reading reviews I came across Young Swingers Week. I really like the description and the reviews were awesome. I also like that it catered to a younger crowed since we are both 28 yrs old. Once I learned more I told my soon to be wife about it, told her to go read the reviews herself but really talked it up. I even found a great newbie trip report on ATF that I had her read. Long story short, 2 weeks after we returned from our honeymoon in Hawaii, we booked the trip to Hedo with YSW for March of 2015.
The months leading up were very exciting for me but my wife seemed to be a little disengaged. I tried to talk to her about it and get her as pumped as I was but I think it really set it that we booked a trip to a nude resort and we were going to be naked in front of strangers. Now, I was a little nervous as expected but excited, my wife was just getting more nervous. I actually started to worry she was going to back out. Knowing my wife and her personality, I KNEW as soon as she got there she would fit right in and make friends with everyone. She even acknowledged this herself but still said the nerves were high leading up to it. Fast forward to January, I was reading the YSW forum on here and saw there was a post for a free 3 month membership on Kasidie and that site had a pretty complete guest list. One of the biggest questions / worries / uncertainties was what kind of people would be there so this was awesome. I signed up right away. When my wife got home from work I showed her the site and the guest list. I made our profile quick just to get access to the YSW guest list. My wife didn’t think I did a good enough job and helped build it up and get certified with a photo of us. Let me tell you. As soon as we were certified and our photo was up, we started getting attention. A lot of attention, from folks going to YSW and other people from around the country. My wife became addicted to the site and we would get home from work and check our messages, read profiles, look through the people going to Hedo…. The whole thing was really invigorating and made us both more relaxed. All of the sudden, my wife wanted to go on a couple of dates and have some lifestyle experiences before being thrown into a lifestyle vacation. We did go on a date with a couple, ended up back in a hotel room and had our first couple / couple experience. We met up with them one more time before our trip to Jamaica and all of the sudden, we were technically in the lifestyle heading to Young Swingers Week. From when we booked the trip to when we left, our feeling changed dramatically and could not have predicted the sexual encounters we had. So that is a brief, down and dirty description of our experiences prior and our mindset going into this trip. At first, we were going to check out a nude resort, by time we left, we were going as a swinging couple.
The Trip:
We went Saturday to Saturday and flew direct from Philadelphia. Based on what we read, we opted to use Club Mobay for expedited service through the airport. This was by far, the best decision we made. I couldn’t believe the line to get through customs and passport checks. I travel A LOT for work and I have never seen anything like it. There was a nice girl waiting for us when we got off the plane with our names on a sign, walked us right up, passed hundreds of people and brought us to a special line. We waiting about 10 minutes, had our passports checked, picked up our luggage and was escorted to the club. We were checked in for the shuttle and about 25 minutes after getting to Club Mobay, we were off to the shuttle bus. We did end up waiting on the bus for a while, I guess they were still waiting on a few more passengers but we spoke to a couple that had landed about 4 hours prior to us and had to wait in the customs line. Yes, the expedited service saved us nearly 4 hours of waiting in line! Worth every penny. Once the shuttle took off it was a long but nice ride to the resort, of course there was the one pit stop for red stripe, beer and smoke, then back on the road.
Not too long later we pulled into the resort, unloaded the bags and sat in the lobby while someone brought a clip board to fill out our info, they took it back to the counter to check us in. While we were waiting the YSW check in table was open so we walked over and got our necklace and some other goodies. The folks with YSW were so nice and friendly, everyone introduced themselves and told us about the resort and overall were incredibly nice. When our check-in was complete a guy helped bring our luggage to our nude beach, oceanfront jacuzzi room. It wasn’t one of the remodeled ones but was painted and everything seemed clean. I read about issues with he AC but didn’t have any trouble. The room itself was a little small and not too fancy. As I mentioned before I do travel a lot and have the privilege to stay at nice hotels and that is what I am used to, but for Hedo, I really can’t complain. It was really nice having the jacuzzi right out on the beach just a step outside our slider. So we unpacked a little and I was thinking we would walk around the resort but before I knew it, the wife was like, let’s get naked and walk down the beach. Now I was the timid one and she was balls deep! She was like, we’re here, let’s get naked. OK, so we took our clothes off, walked out of our slider and onto the beach. Exhilarating. Being very attracted to the Jamaican culture we both wanted some smoke for the week and for some reason or another, didn’t get any at our pit stop on the bus. Note* if you plan on smoking, find a local or buy at the pit stop, the folks that walk the beach will rip you off big time! We saw one of the “salesmen” walking the beach and my wife said to go buy some. I just got naked, have been at the resort for 30 min, on the beach for 1 minute and now I’m walking up to a guy asking to buy some bud, first time without pockets. We did a lot of negotiating but $30 - $50 should get enough smoke for 2 people for a week. OK, so we did our thing got our supply and decided to walk down to the nude pool. We ordered our first round of drinks mingled casually with a few folks around the bar and decided to get into the pool. Thinking back we probably looked kind of awkward. We were talking to each other a little, looking around, watching everyone chat like they’ve been friends for years and wondering what to do next. Out of know where a guy comes up and asks us the time. Seeing as neither of us had a watch on and he happened to be wearing a military watch a that very moment I applauded his ice breaking skills. We got to chatting and he was talking about his beautiful wife so I said, why don’t we go and meet her, he said YES!! She was in the pool hanging with another couple they had met a year before at YSW and also happened to friend us on Kasidie. We now had 4 new friends in 5 minutes. It was getting dark and they said they were going to get ready for dinner and said we could join them. We went back to the room, got ready and walked over to the dining hall. We felt like the new kids at school looking for a table to sit at for lunch, luckily we saw our new friends and we all had dinner together. They turned out to be our buddies for the rest of the week! The dinner itself was fine, no complaints, I eat everything. I can see how people can be picky and nit pick at every little thing but I need a few essential things, good service, friendly people, clean, and honest. I got that the first day we were there and it was exemplified at dinner as well. After dinner was the YSW event, PJ’s and Pasties. The details are getting a little fuzzy but we ran into another couple we met on Kasidie, a HOT couple. We spent a bunch of time hanging out with them, I think we danced a little but went outside for some air. Somehow we invited them back to our jacuzzi to hang out and ended up having a great playtime with a really nice couple our first night! Before we left however, the party was in the disco (I don’t like the word disco, can we start calling it the club or something!?) and it’s getting old. It’s pretty small and nothing fancy or special. There is a stage with a pole and even that is looking rather beat. But there were enough hot and sexy people to make it a great scene. This is the only disco / club on the resort so it’s the only option. One night YSW held the party around the prude pool and that was one of my favorites. It was great being outside and the pool was lit up, great party and I hope they do that more often. Anyway, we played that night, saw off our new, new friends, and got some much needed sleep.
Our morning started much like the rest to follow. Rolled out around 9:30 to make it over to breakfast and already we started seeing familiar faces, enough to wave and say hi. I’m not a big breakfast eater so the breakfast buffet was perfect for me. I grabbed a few hardboiled eggs, some fruit and a piece of bacon. They had an omelet station which the wife loved, she can eat eggs for three meals a day. We really took our time and were usually the last ones to leave. We made it a routine to grab cappuccinos at the espresso bar. They were not included and we did pay for them, but I must say, they were really good. Impressive actually. I never saw anyone at the espresso bar other than us but it became something I looked forward to every day. Some mornings, my wife would head to the gym then meet me at breakfast and one day we missed breakfast all tougher. She went to the gym and I sat in the courtyard to catch up on work emails. When she finished we walked over to the grill on the prude side and grabbed some lunch food. For us, we spent the first half of the days relaxing and taking it easy.
By late afternoon we would finally work our way over to the nude pool and start our drinks. I stuck to vodka / sprite. I never drink vodka but I can only handle so much Red Stripe (that’s the only beer you’ll get). It worked well for me and I used the insulated cups that were given to us by YSW. I did try a few of the tropical drinks, the banana one was so good. Yes, they put in real bananas… I would also specify the type of vodka I wanted so they wouldn’t give me the Jamaican equivalent of Bankers.
The nude pool always had events going on pool side, moaning contests, who’s boobs contents, all entertaining. The bathrooms are right next to the back side of the pool too which made it really convenient. Once we got to the pool, that is where we stayed until the sun started to go down and it became time for dinner. The 3rd night was approaching and we decided to take a quick power nap before heading to eat. Our 4 new friends could not have been more clear that napping was a bad idea but we are pros and there was no way we could finish the night without some rest. I must have shut my alarm off without realizing but we slept straight through dinner and into the theme party which I believe was Rave. I’m sure other newbies will make the same mistake, the sun and drinks are just so draining if you try and nap too late in the day, be prepared to miss the rest of the night. We tried going out for a bit but the prime time was just dying out and we decided to grab some of this pizza we heard so much about over at the nude pool.
Two reviews here, 1: Pizza. We are from NJ / PA / NY, the best pizza in the world exists in these states. Seriously, search for the best pizza places in America, and I promise you at least one, maybe two are in the same little NJ town we live in. Regardless, I’ll still eat some dominoes and stuff like that. The pizza at Hedo, is terrible. Nearly inedible, but satisfying for the drunk / high food it is. Don’t let anyone fool you into thinking Hedo has some magically amazing Jamaican pizza because I’ve read that. I feel so bad for the folks that think they ate good pizza at Hedo, please come visit us in NJ and I promise to change your pizza life. And 2: The only creepy thing that happened to us the entire trip occurred while waiting for my cardboard pie. We were standing off to the side and this gentleman with a rather large belly in his late 40’s to early 50’s just stared at us, non-stop, the entire time we were waiting for our pizza. When his came up, he grabbed it from the counter, turned at ate each piece real slow without taking his eyes off of us. So creepy. As soon as our pizza came, we bounced right back to our room, sat outside by the hot tub and indulged. This was a fun night regardless of the oversleeping and creepy man. My wife an I just spent time together talking, sitting in the hot tub and playing for a long time. It was nice to separate from the crowd for a bit.
All of the other days were pretty similar, breakfast, lounge around, get to the nude pool and start drinking in the mid to late afternoon, dinner, chat with friends, go to the YSW themed party. We broke it up with the catamaran to Ricks Cafe one day, a waterslide party one day, an epic volleyball game in the prude pool, and a nap on the beach. I do have to say, after a week, it’s a bit like groundhog day. I heard someone say that and it definitely made a lot of sense. Luckily, it’s the worlds greatest groundhog day.
Ricks Cafe:
The one day we did Ricks Cafe. We went out on the catamaran and it was a nice change of scene. We met a new couple that arrived pretty late in the week but were smokin' hot. We had a great time hanging on the boat and they had some drinks and snacks for us. I think it’s worth going to at least once. I have a feeling we would go again. The cliffs themselves were awesome to watch people jump from, all different heights and people of all ages. The locals will jump off of the highest point which is utterly ridiculous and they will make the jump with your GoPro if you give them a few bucks. It was really cool. We walked around a bit and I would recommend wearing something on your feet, I stepped on something that left a little dot of blood in my heal but hurt like heck. 5 days later, I was home still having pain in my foot when I decided to start digging in to see what I could find. There was a tiny little dot, looked like a grain of sand deep in my heel, I grabbed it with tweezers and out came a 1/4 inch shard of glass. That. Hurt. Like a mother fucker. Regardless, the boat ride was fun and the sunset on the way back was incredible. It’s also fun when the vanilla boats go by and everyone is looking at all the naked people. The girls liked to line up and shake some ass or boobs at the other boats. We got lots of applauses! Not everyone was naked though, I left my bathing suit on the whole time, I think my wife left her bottoms on too.
Lobster Island:
Right outside our door on the beach are a couple of small boats that will take you over to a tiny island right off the coast. 10 minute boat ride. We met a group of YSW folks around 11am one morning and we all took the boat over. A few locals set up a makeshift bbq and have some coolers selling beer and drinks. You can walk over to the shore line and pick out lobsters from the lobster traps and they cook it right there while you wait! They cut hem open and use a butter and herb sauce all over, you get some seasoned rice and grilled garlic bread too. The whole platter is $20 USD. That was a really awesome time. We all hung out and chit chatted, had some afternoon Red Stripes and ate fresh lobster over a wood fire on a tiny Jamaican island, it couldn’t get much better than that!! I recommend it but remember to bring cash, I ran out but our new friends were quick to spot us some. As far as nudity, some folks got naked some were topless but the island is not part of Hedo, there were other tourists there and even a few families when we arrived. The Hedo people waited for the families to leave before stripping down of course
WiFi:
There is free wifi in the courtyard which I used once or twice, no issues. If you want it in your room you have to pay. I had an international plan on my phone and used the data sparingly, didn’t try the pay wifi.
Food:
I spoke about the buffet above but there are a couple of restaurants to try. I can’t comment because we didn’t try any of them. We were going to try the Hibachi one night but it was closed although I heard good things. Friday night is all you can eat lobster night at the buffet and all you can eat sushi. That was awesome. I eat sushi 3 times a week so this was very good for me and a great way to end our trip! All in all, there is nothing bad to say about the food there unless you are very picky. But here is plenty of variety and a couple of different special items each night.
Piano Lounge:
We ended up here a couple of times and had a blast. I am a sucker for live music and piano bars are one of my favorite. The entertainment was great and the atmosphere was good as well. I really enjoyed listening to them and they kept a nice mix of comedic moments with some sexy dancing on top of the piano as well. The owner of the resort was there all week and he had his spot reserved right next to the piano.
Playrooms:
They had a playroom open a few night and we did walk through during set up but never made it inside to play. We ended playing with a couple (sometimes multiple couples) every night except for two. We had the jacuzzi room and it was an easy sell to get people back. The playroom was set up in the spa with a bunch of mattresses placed all around, it looked nice and sexy but I can’t comment on the scene when it opened.
GOAT RACES:
One of the craziest things. Hundreds of people line up along the bach and at the finish line. 6 goats attached to ropes are brought to one end and each goat get a runner. You have to run down the beach with your goat and cross the finish line. Simple rules, don’t beat up or drag your goat, the goat has to cross the finish line first, and you start running on 3. I signed up, somewhat reluctantly, but won my first heat with a major come back nearing the finish line. A little tap on the goats ass got him running. I came in 2nd or 3rd in the finals but what a blast and such a great event. Where else in the world does this take place?
Waterslide:
DO IT! We got a bunch of people together and had a waterslide party. We all hung out on the prude side with drink and watched people go down the slide. It’s pretty good and worth doing a few times. We even had some self proclaimed water slide aficionados say it was really good. Yes, you can do it naked.
Updates:
When we were there, the owner let us know all of the new updates they were planning on doing this year and I’ve heard many of them started. New prude bar, new dining area, new stage. The atmosphere felt like it was being rejuvenated. It was like an old home for many that was getting fresh updates by the next generation. It all just had a good feeling about it. Good vibe!
PDA:
Random here and there. I saw some oral by the pool but I couldn’t accuse anyone of lewd sex acts. People became a little more open at night but I really believe it all depends on the crowd of people that happen to be there.
Young Swingers Week:
AWESOME. Go with them. When we were there, the owner of YSW got word that Young Swingers Week became a registered trademark! The event is growing, the staff was great, lots of hot people. Can’t speak highly enough about them. The host for the even was Fifty, and he was the man. How he has the energy and stamina to keep up all day and all night is incredible. I hope he is there every year.
We truly met people there that we can call our friends, some we plan on seeing between Hedo trips! I don’t see any reason not to visit this resort. As my wife and I spoke about, if it is completely terrible, we can stay on the prude side. If it’s unbearable, we can walk next door to Sandels. I do think we will try Desire so we can truly have something to compare to but even then, I hear the atmosphere is different and the expectations should be as well. I am really happy we took the trip and can not wait until next March.
I have to say that reading the reviews and trip reports from newbies was really helpful and encouraging for me and I wanted to do the same for others. I didn’t break it down day-by-day, I don’t think that’s necessary but the important parts are the beginning of your first trip, when everything is new and the first. After two hours, being naked means nothing, it’s just fun and exciting. After two days, it’s like you live there and for the rest of your stay, it’s your home. We can’t wait to go back and already booked for March 2016 with YSW. I’d happy to follow up with any specific questions, from the resort to Young Swingers Week, to getting into the lifestyle. We had a crash course and it turned out great for us and would love to keep sharing!
