50's & Hedo & Anniversary

Wifey and I have a 25th wedding anniversary coming up and thought about doing a split stay - 1/2 at Jamaica Inn in Ocho Rios (where we stayed for our 15th) and then several days at Hedo. We've done some CO hot springs in Colorado. Wifey feels uncomfortable when we're among the few people naked and I think she would be better if we were somewhere where everybody is naked.

Questions:

1. We're not in the Lifestyle, but want to have fun - Are there weeks/groups to avoid? Or is it big enough that LS'ers aren't a big deal?
2. Wifey doesn't drink a lot (She's a little bit allergic to alcohol and get s really flushed in the face. Is Hedo a place where you have to be blitzed to have a good time?
3. Our bodies. I'm in my early 50's and wifey late 40's. We're not athletes or supermodels. I've got a beer belly and wifey is a little plump (With gorgeous breasts). Should we try to find a week when middle aged people go or will there be enough variety to not feel subconsious about our bodies?
4. Lastly (sounds kinda stupid, but...) I've got a small penis. It is what it is. It's a shorty. Don't really want to be laughed/mocked. It's decent sized when erect, but obviously I won't be walking around sporting a woody all the time (after the first day at least . lol

Congratulations on the anniversary, that is awesome.
Our first trip to Hedo we planned a split two week vacation.
1st week at Hedo and the second at the Riu.
My wife was nervous about the nude thing so we thought if it didn't go well the 1st week we would still have the vanilla resort for the second week.
Well..... 1st week at Hedo was an absolute blast and we immediately fit in with the amazing people there.
Getting Nude was easy and feels like the Norm sooner than you would think.
After a great 1st week we found the vanilla week a real disappointment and quickly missed the fun.
To your questions;
1. We are not lifestyle either, never had a problem and would never expect to. No means No and everyone is great.
2. Your choice completely, no pressure
3. There will be all shapes and sizes, fun for all. There are some weeks when a large group with a theme will take over most of the resort. Just check the calendar.
4. Again, all shapes and sizes, we have found it is a great atmosphere to meet people and have great conversations and make new friends. The nude thing will be your new Normal in no time.

I would probably avoid January (aka "Lifestyles Month") but other than that I agree with BigPine. My wife does not drink very much and still has a good time. Of course, compared to some *I* don't drink much but then I am just not that into alcohol poisoning!

I'd also recommend avoiding Young Swingers Week. Otherwise you should be good to go.

There is no body-shaming at these resorts. Believe me, you will see everything under the sun and everyone is just super friendly, super welcoming, super classy. Ive never seen or heard even a hint of body shaming.

Our first Hedo (and nude resort) experience was last year. My husband & I are around your ages...and by no means have perfect bodies. I was very anxious about the whole public nudity thing, but we just decided to jump right in. As others have said, you will see all shapes and sizes of people. I never felt like I was being judged and found the whole experience actually quite liberating. We're also not swingers...and had no problems at all. I say step out of your comfort zone and go. You might just have the time of your life! (we did - and we'll be doing it again this November! )

Just go and you will know! No body shaming or judgement at Hedo and really after the first day or two being naked will be second nature. No means no and 99% of guests are very respectful. Avoid January if you are not in the lifestyle and have a fantastic trip!!!

I would probably avoid the first week of June, just because there are two "media events", the "Women At Large" and "Men at Large" calendar participant contests. Those type of events tend to have an oversized impact on the resort at large, particularly the prude side and the nightly activities. These particular groups may be fine, but such groups tend to think the resort is there for them and you are there to provide atmosphere for their events, and I am of the opinion it is my vacation, not theirs to organize.

ColoradoMtnCpl - Bigpine's post is right on. For our first trip, we went to Hedo for 4 days and Breezes Runaway Bay (has a different name now) for 4 days. Worst thing we ever did. After 4 days of having the best vacation of our lives, realizing that it is really not that big of a deal to be naked with a few hundred other naked people, and meeting so many awesome folks from all over, some of whom we are still good friends with, we packed up and left the party. We got on a bus, went back to the airport, waited around for another bus, took that bus to Runaway Bay, and stayed at a beautiful but boring resort for four more days, all the while wishing we were back at Hedo. Never made that mistake again. Hedo has the best guests and staff you will find anywhere. Hard to believe until you actually go there. Everyone is respectful, no means no, you don't have to drink alcohol to have a great time, nobody cares how old you are or what you look like. Go and have fun!

Thanks Thone1. Jamaica Inn in Ocho Rios is a special place for us. Good memories there. My thought was to do 4 days there being totally chilled out, then 4 days at Hedo. Thanks for the tips on avoiding first week in July, Zork.

I went with my friend 2 years ago and she was really nervous to go nude. She started with a wrap on and the security asked her to take it off. She started to tell me that she wanted to go back to the prude side when a woman next to us grabbed her by the hand and took her into the nude pool. It calmed her down and she has never looked back, we are going back the 2nd week of January for our 3rd trip. Hedo guests come in all shapes and sizes....... Grab a drink jump in the nude pool and look around, enjoy the scenery.
