Which is better, Desire Riviera Maya or Pearl

Hi, my wife and I would like opinions on to which resort people like better. We are planning a trip and both places sound wonderful. So if anyone has been to both, please let us know which you thought was better.

Both resorts are nice, and the differences are not huge. But based on what I know of Desire Riviera Maya first hand, and what I hear of Pearl from good friends and acquaintances, here is a way to break the tie.

If you value the quality of the facility primarily, then Pearl is your better choice. But if you place more value on an active lifestyle scene, then Riviera Maya is the better bet.

How overt is the 'activity' at either?

Not from experience but we're told it depends on the group(s) at any time. Some groups it's very active, some not so much. So we're told.

Desire RM has a more lively vibe, Pearl always seems to us to be very quiet and attracts an older crowd. They're both beautiful resorts, Pearl is slightly more "luxurious" of the two.

Lifestyle-RM. Relax by the pool, Pearl.

They are only 8 miles apart and a 20 minute taxi. Why don't you split your vacation between the two? Three days at Pearl, three days at RM. This is what we did.
