Thank you very much ! I will continue to watch the price of Westjet and Sunquest
Arrrgghh. Looking to go in April, but have a 2k Westjet credit from a prior cancelled trip to Vegas. And they won't let us use the credit towards a Westjet Vacations package. If I had plans to go elsewhere, I could use the credit for that and still book Westjet Vacations for Hedo, but the only other thing we have in the works is New Orleans, and Westjet doesn't go there :-( The price difference is so big right now with the exchange rate ... sucks!
We have always found that it's just cheaper and easier to book through a Canadian travel agent, rather than a U.S. one, and the exchange rate is ridiculous right now.... And booking a vacation package your transfer is included...no worries....
We have been going to Hedo now for the last 2 years no hve been going every 4-5 months, I have to say looking for Oct - Nov is a challenge price wise, cost has gone extremely high through WestJet, air canada, etc... I hate to say we my not be going until prices drop! Even though we love Hedo and I'll miss the people and atmosphere it is hard to justify paying $2000 and up for 5 days, 7 is crazy! Will keep looking everyday for deal but so far nothing.
River girl, we are in the exact same boat. Our trips are on hold until the prices get more reasonable, possibly never?
River....keep an eye on october, prices will drop, you should see 1700 pp soon. 1840 is cheapest mid oct so far.
Unlesd your tied to specific dates and room cat, maybe as low as 1600. Happy hunting

We're looking for a group rate right now for March or April for 10 couples right now will keep everyone informed prices will be in Canadian.
Tjsoftail, interested in knowing the source of your information, sounds intriguing.
Brokenwife, keep us in the loop, we'd definitely be interested.
Well here on the west coast just the air to get to Jamaica, is about $1800.00, we only go once a year. But having said that, and going back on my records, in 2008, we paid $1714, 2009 we paid $1885, 2012 was $1728, and 2016 was $1646.00, all Canadian dollars all on Westjet and all for 2 people. The missing years we either flew out of Seattle or on points. In 2017 our air would have been $1842.00 except we are flying on points again. As far as we are concerned, the air portion hasn't changed that much. The resort on the other hand has climbed significantly in that time frame. WestJet has been having numerous sales lately, some thing should come up soon.

The rates for resort are going up for several reasons. US dollar not being par anymore, the capacity of the resort, all the improvements a the resort and everything goes up. We can't expect Harry to put all this money in and not charge more for the rooms. It was to be expected. And as far as everything going up in price.... I ordered my kids school pictures the other day and in Grade Primary they were $29 now in Grade 7 they are almost $50 for the same package with no improvements Just one example of everything unfortunately going up (except pay of course lol)
We have never paid more then $2800 for both of us total, the prices have just sky rocketed, the cheapest right now is oct 17 for 5 days $3188 total crazy!
Wow - $2800? $3188? Flying out of Alberta and those would be fantastic prices. But because we have to fly to somewhere to then fly to Jamaica, prices for us are more. We have found that using AirMiles for flights and then a TA for the rooms is the only way we can get down there right now.
H2 - 12, 14, 24?
Pearl - 13, 17, 18, 22, 24?
20 & 21 - Stupid f**king Covid...
The cheapest option for us is a Sunwing Vacations package (love the direct flight too); however we are actually ahead by a few hundred dollars by booking with DennyP (WWW group rates) by going with the book 14 days get 3 free promotion. Sunwing only flies in or out of Calgary every 7 days so in order to do a 17 night trip we go with WestJet. Booking late August the flight for 2 was around $1600 (the most we paid was a few years ago when we missed a sale and paid $2100 for our flights). Not everyone has the choice to go for this amount of time but once we get there we don't want to leave EVER plus we hate the long flight and transfer in Toronto... We actually booked 18 nights this December to take advantage of a new WestJet flight out of Calgary that only has a 1 hour (as opposed to 2.5-5 hour stop) in Toronto. Going home will take us 11 hours but pleased to get to Montego Bay in only 9 hours !
Wow, this could be our story. Hate the Toronto connection, but from Vancouver, we have no choice on air. Even leaving from Seattle we connect in Charlotte. Never paid more than $1885.00 from Vancouver (low of $1714) for 2 people, either state side (low of $1449.00) or with a Canadian carrier, but we've been lucky with sales and all. Dennyp for April 2017 was way too high, we could do better from a Canadian supplier (Flight Centers Kristin J. Anderson in Vancouver) .
And this year (next year 2017), we are going for 18 days (14/3 plus a comp'd day). Westjet had a really good package deal for 14 days, but they would not budge on the extra three days, which put them out of the running. If Hedo ever drops the 14/3 package, we'll be taking the Westjet package.
Would love to have those Toronto prices out west here, I sorry, what are they bitching about again.
